Xi Psi Sorority of Beta Sigma Phi has been really busy for the last several months. The members of the Xi Psi Chapter celebrated Founder's Day with a dinner at Buckhorn State Lodge on May 14. Gayle Muncy was named "Woman of the Year" for her numerous hours of work and dedication to the Sorority. the "Program of the Year" was awarded to Janice Crawford for her Scrapbooking Program. All members were recognized and given charms for selected areas of service and/or perfect attendance.

Xi Psi also elected Ella Strong for "Sweetheart of the Year" at their Valentine's Social held in February at the Fellowship Hall of Petrey Memorial Baptist Church. Over the last nine months, Xi Psi has held two auctions raising $400.00 for worthy causes such as sponsorship of a table for Mammography Awareness in Older Women; donations for the Intergenerational Prom; assistance with finances to a local family in need (support given at Thanksgiving and at Christmas), and books donated for the Care Cottage.

Xi Psi's future plans include a possible "Pancake Breakfast" and "Yard Sale" in August or September; a Ritual of Jewels will take place on August 11; and our Annual Picnic will be held at Herman Maggard Memorial Park in Lothair during the month of July.

Congratulations Gayle, Janice and Ella. We appreciate all that you do for the Sorority.
