In February the Daniel Boone Motor Inn, or more specifically the actions going on inside the inn, became a target for law enforcement in the wake of an overdose death.
The death of a twenty year old Knott County man after overdosing in his motel room and a subsequent arrest for trafficking hours afterward sparked a response from law enforcement with the Perry County Sheriff's Office. Deputies began regularly setting up road blocks in and out of the parking lot in an attempt to curb the amount of drugs coming into the motel.
Perry County Sheriff Pat Wooton said in February his office would be communicating with other agencies in an attempt to curb the use of illegal drugs within the motel.
