Dores advance with win over Kats
The Perry County Central Lady Commodores and the Buckhorn Lady Wildcats opened the 2006 54th District Tournament at Memorial Gym on Monday. The Lady Commodores jumped out to a big lead and never looked back as they coasted to the 85-38 win.
The Lady Commodores nearly scored all the points they would need for the victory in the first quarter as they put up 36 points. By the half, the game was all but decided with Perry Central holding a 67-10 lead going into the break.
The Lady Commodore starters never entered the game in the second half as Coach Napier went well into his bench to finish the game. Buckhorn was able to take advantage of the situation and tighten the score a little.
Going into the fourth quarter, Perry Central held a 77-18 advantage, and went deeper into their bench. In the fourth quarter, Buckhorn began to find their range, and hit the Lady Commodores for 20 points.
Perry Central moved on in the tournament with the 85-38 win. Kristen Madden led the way for the Lady Commodores with 26 points, while Jaime Gilbert led the Lady Wildcats with 15 points.
