With the practice portion of the preseason over, the Perry County Central Commodores are prepared to take the field in defense of their 2005 14th region title. The Commodores will return a wealth of talent from last year's team, including two of the top hurlers in the region, John Couch and Jon Bowling. Last year's graduation, however, has left Perry Central looking for outfielders.

The Commodores will hit the field this season with about 19 players on the roster, with several looking to step into a vacancy. Perry Central will start their preseason on Monday with a trip to Williamsburg.

Coach Bobby Keith Dixon commented on this year's outlook, “We should be in good shape. I look for us to improve as the season wears on.” The Commodores will be looking for their first back-to-back regional titles this year.
