The Perry County Central Commodores' tennis team held their first home match of the season last week, hosting the June Buchanan Crusaders. The young Commodores had difficulty getting started in their matches and ended up on the short end of the score more often than not. Of their 13 matches, the Commodores were only able to pull off a pair of wins.
Brandi Amburgey picked up a win in the girls' matches, and Ashley Dean and Chassity Fields picked up a win in doubles play.
On the boys' side, the Commodores' 1-2-3 players were absent due to a school trip, forcing 4-5-6 to move up into their spots. They were unable to pull off a victory in the series.
