The Hazard/Perry County Senior Citizens Center hosted the annual Radio Day kickoff luncheon at the senior citizens building in Hazard last week.
The luncheon was held, in part, to recognize last year's donors to the senior citizens center during the 2005 Radio Day and to announce thsi year date for the 2006 Radio Day. This year, Radio Day will be held on May 24, and WSGS will hand over the airwaves to the senior citizens in order to raise money to fund events and activities for the center, which includes over 1,200 transports and over 250 meals served each month.
Awards were presented ot each of last year's donors. The bronze status was given for donations of 250-499 dollars, silver for donations of 500-999 dollars, and gold for donations of 1,000 dollars or more.
