Lady Bulldogs take 54th district title

The Hazard Lady Bulldogs continued their stranglehold on the 54th district title this week as they claimed their sixth straight title. The Lady Bulldogs finished the tournament with a pair of shutouts (their sixth straight), and one hit over seven innings.
In the first game, the Lady Bulldogs took on the Buckhorn Lady Wildcats (2-19). Hazard needed but three innings to bring the affair to an end as their offense proved to be too much for the Lady Wildcats.
Hazard put a staggering 12 runs on the board in the first inning, and added another four runs in the second inning (that would be the only two innings the offense would get to bat).
On the mound, Ashley Keith was stellar, pitching a no-hitter. Keith pitched three innings, striking out six and walking two. She also led the offense with five RBI.
Hazard stats: Jauna Noble: 3 hits, 3 runs and 3 RBI, Meghan Hackney: 2 hits, 2 runs and 1 RBI, Brittani Slone: 1 hit and 3 runs, Jessica Feltner: 3 hits, 3 runs and 2 RBI, Leslie Walker: 2 hits, 1 run and 1 RBI, Ashley Keith: 3 hits, 1 run and 5 RBI, Whitney Whitson: 1 run, and Allie Noble: 1 hit and 2 runs.
In the championship game, the Lady Bulldogs took on the Perry County Central Lady Commodores, who made an amazing comeback to defeat the Leslie County Lady Eagles 8-7. Hazard pushed their scoreless defensive streak to six games by shutting out Perry Central 11-0 in four innings.
Hazard got off to a slow start, scoring just four runs over the first three innings. However, the Lady Bulldogs
