The final game of the 2006 softball season featured the Sunbirds and the Bandits. The Bandits held the early lead, but could not maintain the momentum as the Sunbirds came back to take the 10-8 lead.
The Bandits scored three runs in the top of the first inning to take the 3-0 lead. The then tied the game in the bottom of the frame (3-3). In the top of the second, the Bandits would grab their final lead of the game after scoring a single run (4-3).
The Sunbirds rallied in the bottom of the third to take the 8-4 lead. This time it would be the Bandits that would rally to tie the game, getting four runs in the fourth to knot the game at eight.
What proved to be the game winning runs came in the bottom of the fourth inning when the Sunbirds crossed the plate twice to bring the tally to 10-8. The Bandits were unable to score in the final two innings, giving the Sunbirds the season ending win by the final count of 10-8.
