The Hazard Bulldogs played host to the Harlan Green Dragons on Friday as part of the Pride of the Mountains Bowl. The Bulldogs were able to get very little offense going as the Green Dragons blanketed the field with a nearly impenetrable defense.
Hazard's first series set the tone for the entire game as they were forced to start from their own one-yard line. Harlan was able to take advantage of the good position that incurred from the Bulldogs' misfortune.
Harlan was able to put together a strong drive on their first possession. The Green Dragons found the end zone and collected the early 7-0 lead.
Things heated up for the Green Dragons in the second quarter. They were able to cross the goal line three times in the period, and went into the break with a commanding 28-0 lead.
Hazard's defense stiffened in the second half, and kept Harlan out of the end zone for most of the period. However, the Bulldogs were unable to get their offense rolling, and did not shave any points off the Green Dragon lead.
