The Perry County Central Commodores took to the road this weekend to participate in Letcher County Central's Cougar Classic. The Commodores faced the Lincoln County Patriots in the third game of the day.
The Commodores started out in an 8-0 hole, but played their way back into the game, and was leading 21-20 when the horn sounded ending the first quarter. Perry Central continued to play well in the second quarter, but could not stop the Patriots' offense, sending them to the locker room trailing 48-41.
The see-saw match continued in the third quarter, with Perry Central making the late rally to regain the lead 65-62 going into the final period. The Commodores continued to lead throughout the fourth quarter, and had a seven point lead with a couple of minutes left in the game. However, Perry Central went ice cold from the line, missing eight free throws down the stretch, and gave up the game 82-78.
