Credible leads sought in pharmacy burglary

A week after a pharmacy was burglarized in Hazard, police are still looking for the culprits.
According to Hazard Patrolman Chris Combs, King Pharmacy was broken into last week and several thousand dollars worth of narcotics were stolen along with a large amount of cash. The burglary occurred sometime after the business's normal operating hours on Monday, May 14 or early the next morning.
Combs, the investigating officer, noted that he has received calls concerning the burglary, but so far the investigation has no definite leads. "We have received several tips at the police department," Combs said. " We have followed up on all of them and not been able to find any definite link. We are still looking for credible leads."
According to Combs, the assailant forced entry into the business, bur declined to comment on just how entry was gained. Combs said the types of drugs stolen range from OxyContin to methadone, and could have an approximate street value in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Scott King, the owner of the pharmacy, declined to comment on the burglary, but did note that there is a reward for information concerning the burglary.
