On Tuesday, the Perry County Central Commodores hosted the Owsley County Owls. The Commodores desperately needed a win to get their season on track before district tournament time.

Things started slow for the Commodores as they had trouble finding their range early. However, midway through the first period, shots began to fall for Perry Central and they began to build a cushion. At the end of the first period, the Commodores held a 14-9 advantage.

The Commodores’ hot hand continued in the second period, allowing them to start pulling away from the Owls. At the break, Perry Central found themselves in control with a 33-21 lead.

The third period proved to be the breaking point of the game as Perry Central came out of the locker room ready to play. The Commodores used their stingy defense to hold the Owls to a single field goal, while their offense continued to roll. Going into the final frame, Perry Central was well in control at 49-26.

The Commodores picked up the tempo to a frenzied pace in the final period, leaving the Owls in the dust. Perry Central went on to win the contest by the final count of 71-45.
