Martha Ellen Combs, born November 17, 1949, departed this life on Thursday, August 7 at the Hazard ARH Regional Medical Center. She was 58 years, eight months and 20 days of age at the time of her passing.

Martha was born in Hazard, the daughter of the late Clinton Thacker and the late Imogene Dean Thacker. She was a life-long resident of Perry County and was preceded in death by two brothers, Gillis and Robin Darrell Thacker, and one sister, Nancy Ross.

She leaves the following relatives surviving: son Britt Combs, Jr. of Lower Second Creek; daughters Angie Combs and Ashley Combs, both of Bulan; brothers Charles Thacker, Harold Thacker and Delzie Thacker, all of Dunraven, Ky., Lewis Thacker of Hardburly and Hubert Lee Thacker of Cinicinnati; sisters Corna Campbell of Elgin, Il., Carolyn Cornett of Cincinnati, Mary Baker of Dunraven and Teresa Karr of Hazard; grandchildren Austin Combs, Heather Mullins and Ashton Campbell. She is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends that will be left behind to mourn her passing.

Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, August 10 at the Engle-Walker Funeral Home of Hazard with Rev. Dana Feltner officiating. The burial followed in the Combs Family Cemetery located at Lower Second Creek. The visitation was at the funeral home on Saturday, August 9.
