On Friday, the Hazard Bulldogs battled the weather and the Lexington Christian Eagles in the final game of the regular season. The Eagles knocked the Bulldogs out of the state semifinals last year, and the Bulldogs were looking for a little payback.

The Eagles got on the board first as former Bulldog receiver Joey Meehan hauled in an 8-yard pass. The extra-point attempt would fail, giving Lexington Christian the 6-0 lead.

Hazard would erase the deficit in the second period as the Bulldog defense rattled the ball loose, and Michael Campbell scooped it up and rambled 45-yards to the end zone. Austin Delpont put the extra-point through to give Hazard the 7-6 advantage.

Lexington Christian would add another touchdown just before the break as Ben Hartley ran the ball in from four yards out. The failed conversion sent the Eagles to the locker room with the 12-7 lead.

The Eagles broke the game open in the third quarter, scoring three touchdowns in the period. The Bulldogs would not recover from the blow. Lexington Christian tacked on a pair of touchdowns in the forth quarter for insurance, and held on for the 49-7 win.
