Steven Ray Hurt, 20, of Bonnyman, was indicted on one count of first-degree burglary and on count of second-degree assault after police say he burglarized a private residence on May 17. During the course of the burglary he allegedly caused physical injury to two people, using a dangerous instrument on them which caused the injury. Bail was set at $100,000 cash.
Roy Caskey, 45, of Hazard, was indicted on two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment and one count of second-degree persistent felony offender. According to the indictment, Caskey is accused of wantonly driving his vehicle toward probation officers David Fugate and Larry Caudill on September 17 in an attempt to flee or evade custody. Bail was set at $50,000 cash.
Larry Gibson, 36, of Hazard, was indicted on one count of second-degree assault and one count of first-degree unlawful imprisonment. According to the indictment, Gisbon is accused of intentionally beating a female in the face and body and causing serious injury on August 31. He is also accused of restraining the female in a motel on the same day. Bail was set at $75,000 cash.
Pearl White, 30, of Combs, was indicted on one count of second-degree assault. He is accused of intentionally beating a female in the eye and kicking and choking her, causing serious physical injury in June of this year. Bail was set at $50,000 cash.
Rosa Baker, 29, of Yerkes, was indicted on one count of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, one count of third-degree possession of a controlled substance, one count of possession of marijuana and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. According to the indictment, Baker is accused of possessing oxycodone, alprazolam, marijuana, and an object used or intended for the use of introducing drugs in to the body. The crimes are alleged to have taken place on March 4. Bail was set at $20,000 cash.
Brandon H. Saylor, 25, of Harlan, was indicted on one count of second-degree burglary. Saylor is accused of burglarizing a private residence on December 7, 2006. Bail was set at $30,000 cash.
Four people have also been indicted for allegedly stealing metal. According to court records, David E. Stamper, 46, of Bulan; James Stacy, 30, of Bulan; Donald Hurt, 29, of Hazard; and Brian Todd Deppenmeier, Jr., 21, of Hazard were indicted after authorities accused them of taking metal worth over $300 that belonged to Journey Operating between April 9 and April 14 of this year.
Bail was set for each defendant in the amount of $20,000 cash.
Elizabeth King, 23, of Chavies, was indicted on one count of theft by unlawful taking over $300 for allegedly taking $620 in cash from Walmart between September 17 and September 28 of this year. Bail was set in the amount of $1,000 cash.
Carrie N. Jent, 20, of Vicco, was indicted on one count of theft by unlawful taking over $300 after she allegedly took merchandise belonging to K-Mart between July 7 and September 1 of this year. Bail was set in the amount of $1,000.
Kenneth Robinson, 31, of Rowdy, and Katrina Robinson, 30, of Lost Creek, were indicted on one count of theft by unlawful taking over $300, one count of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and second-degree persistent felony offender after they allegedly stole a purse containing contents worth more than $300 on August 27. The defendants are also accused of possessing a check in the amount of $74.89 belonging to another person. Bail was set at $30,000 cash.
Jennifer Popp, 27, of Hazard, was indicted on one count of theft by deception over $300 and one count of second-degree persistent felony offender. Popp is accused of obtaining a 32-inch flat screen television worth over $300 with a check that belonged to another person on August 27. Bail was set at $50,000 cash.
Melinda Neace, 27, of Bonnyman, was indicted on one count of criminal possession of a forged prescription. Neace is accused of possessing a forged prescription for Lortab 7.5 in July of this year. Bail was set at $20,000 cash.
Raymond Brush was indicted on one count of complicity to the fraudulent use of an ID card to obtain benefits. Brush is accused of assisting Charlotte Crawford, one of four people accused of confining and abusing Donna Hicks for four months last year, in using Hicks’ food stamp card at Save A Lot in order to obtain groceries. Bail was set at $20,000 cash.
Christopher Fugate, 26, and Derrick McIntosh, 23, were both indicted on one count of theft by unlawful taking over $300. Both are accused of taking rebar worth over $300 belonging to Bull of the Woods, Inc. on August 1 of this year. Bail was set at $20,000 cash.
Derrick Mullins, 23, of Hazard, was indicted on one count of second-degree assault. According to indictment he is alleged to have intentionally punched another man in the eye, causing serious physical injury on August 18 of this year. Bail was set at $50,000 cash.
David Coots, Jr., 26, of Happy, was indicted on one count of receiving stolen property over $300. He is accused of receiving telephone lines or cable worth over $300 belonging to Windstream on August 9, 2007. Bail was set at $20,000 cash.
Joseph A. Thomas, 21, of Bonnyman, was indicted on two counts of theft by unlawful taking over $300. Thomas is accused of taking 1,100 feet of copper wire belonging to Pine Branch Coal Company on May 26 of this year. He is also charged with taking an air conditioner worth more than $300 on June 4. Bail was set at $20,000 cash.
John Travis Herald, 24, of Hazard, was indicted on one count of theft by deception over $300 and one count of second-degree persistent felony offender. He is accused of obtaining a 32-inch flat screen television wit a check that belonged to another person and returning the television for cash. Bail was set at $50,000 cash.
Bemas Noble, 32, of Hindman, was indicted on one count of operating a motor vehicle under the influence and third-degree burglary. Noble is charged with burglarizing a storage building and driving while intoxicated on May 11 of this year. Bail was set at $20,000 cash.
Eli Campbell, 52, of Hazard, was indicted on one count of receiving stolen property over $300. Campbell was charged with receiving a 420D Caterpillar backhoe, knowing it to have been stolen, on June 30. Bail was set at $20,000 cash.
Joshua W. Neice, 22, of Hazard, was indicted on one count of second-degree escape and one count of giving a police officer a false name. According to the indictment, Neice is accused of escaping from the custody of the Kentucky River Regional Jail, and giving Captain James East with the Hazard Police Department a wrong name, date of birth, and social security number with the intent to mislead him. Bail was set at $25,000 cash.
Devin D. Osborne, 32, of Topmost, was indicted on one count of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument. He is accused of possessing a forged check in the amount of $359.19 on October 8, 2007. Bail was set at $1,000 cash.
Randolph Harris, 45, of Annville, Ky., was indicted on one count of theft by deception over $300 and one count of second-degree persistent felony offender. Harris is accused of obtaining a riding lawnmower with a check he knew would not be honored by the bank. Bail was set at $40,000 cash.
James Lee Johnson was indicted on one count of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, one count of first-degree possession of controlled substance, one count of possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of controlled substance not in original container. According to court records, Johnson is accused of trafficking in cocaine and possessing OxyContin, as well as drug paraphernalia on August 5, 2006. Bail was set at $30,000 cash.
Melissa Miller, 34, of Austin, In., was indicted on one count of flagrant nonsupport. Miller is accused of failing to provide support to her minor children as ordered to do so and is in arrearages of $13,054.60. Bail was set at $17,500.
Clinton V. Sumner, 26, of Hyden, was indicted on one count of flagrant nonsupport. Sumner is accused of failing to provide support to his minor child as ordered to do so and is in arrearages of $3,383.41. Bail was set at $6,000 cash.
Jackie Ritchie, 47, of Hazard, was indicted on one count of flagrant nonsupport. Ritchie is accused of failing to provide support to his minor child as ordered to do so and is in arrearages of $13,77120. Bail was set at $17,500. In a separate case, Ritchie is accused of falling behind on support to another child in the amount of $6,457.62. In that case bail was set $10,000 cash.
Michael D. Jones, 26, of Bulan, was indicted on one count of flagrant nonsupport. He is accused of failing to provide support for his minor child and is in arrearages in the amount of $3,085.01. Bail was set at $5,000 cash.
Steven R. Smith, 28, of Hazard, was indicted on one count of flagrant nonsupport. He is accused of failing to provide support for his minor chid and is in arrearages in the amount of $2,848. Bail was set at $5,000 cash.
