Belle Cornett, 71, of Hazard, passed away Saturday, August 27 at the hospice care center in Hazard.

She was a member of Big Creek Pentecostal Church and the daughter of the late Dock Williams and the late Pearlie Williams. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Frank Williams.

She is survived by her husband, Junior Cornett; daughters Judy Cornett and Pearlene Stidham; sons James Cornett and Willie E. Cornett; sisters Louise Hart and Shelby Jean Clark; brothers William A. Williams and Henry D. Williams, along with seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard where the family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Monday, August 29. Services will begin at noon on Tuesday, August 30 with Johnny Akers, Billy Ray Eversole and Rev. Pete Youmans officiating. Interment will be at Hamilton Family Cemetery at Big Creek.
