by BAILEY RICHARDS Staff Reporter
One person is dead after a home in the Busy community caught fire early Saturday morning.
Police and fire crews were called to the scene along Ky. 451 at 4:45 a.m. on October 1. The Avawam Fire Department was among those that responded to the call, and while fighting the blaze inside the home firefighters located the remains of a person.
Police have not released the name or age of the person killed in the blaze. The body was sent to the state medical examiner in Frankfort for identification and autopsy.
At this time police have not found evidence of foul play, but the incident remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police Detective Clayton Stamper and Deputy State Fire Marshall Kenneth Browing.
According to residents nearby, the abandoned home next door to the fire had burned only a month ago. They believe that both fires may not have been accidental.
As of Monday morning, the home continued to smolder.
