The Hazard ARH Medical Mall held its annual kick off to National Breast Cancer Awareness Month on October 7. The event included booths that offered information about screenings, what to look for, and where to get mastectomy products and wigs.

National Breast Cancer Awareness Month is celebrating its 25th year of educating women about breast cancer. Every October thousands of organizations work together to offer screenings and teach women about checking for breast cancer.

Hazard ARH is partnered with pharmacies and clinics to offer a wide variety information. The ARH shop had a booth set up to show what mastectomy products they can offer at their various hospitals and at the Medical Mall.

“We offer all of the mastectomy product lines and swim suits and forms and turbans, and we carry a line of wigs also,” said Abby Little.

The Hazard ARH is offering reduced price mammograms for only $75 throughout the month of October to help get more women to schedule checks more regularly.
