On Thursday, the Hazard Lady Bulldogs participated in the semifinals of the 14th region volleyball championship. The Lady Bulldogs took on Letcher Central, a team that has never lost the region.
The Lady Bulldogs were able to keep pace with the Lady Cougars early in the contest. As the game wore on, Letcher Central began to pull away. The Lady Cougars took game one by the final score of 25-16.
Hazard came alive in game two. The Lady Bulldogs not only kept pace in this game, but near the midway point, they held a slim lead. However, the Lady Cougars were able to make the comeback, and regained the advantage.
Hazard had another run left in them, but it would not be enough to force a third game. Letcher Central was able to move into the finals with the 25-23 win.
