HAZARD — A Hazard man is facing a charge of sexual abuse after he was accused of inappropriately touching a 12-year-old girl.
Tommy Ray Miller, 38, is accused of touching the girl inappropriately at her home, according to the arrest citation filed with Perry District Clerk’s Office.
Miller was arrested on October 18 after the girl’s parents called authorities. They claimed their daughter had told them Miller had come into her bedroom and touched her.
Lt. Ruey Couch of the Hazard Police Department reported that he talked to the girl and she told him that Miller came into her bedroom and touched her. Miller was then taken to the police department where he was questioned by Detective Paul Campbell.
According to the citation, Miller admitted to touching the girl, although not to the extent the girl and her parents stated. He is facing one count of first-degree sexual abuse. He is currently lodged in the Kentucky River Regional Jail on a $50,000 bond.
