HAZARD – Portions of two roadways in Perry County will be temporarily closed next week to allow crews to make repairs at two railroad crossings.

The Jackson office of the state highway department announced the closures on Wednesday, noting the first to take effect on Monday, November 7 along Ky. 451 near Yerkes from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in order to allow CSX Transportation to complete repairs.

The second closure will take place on Tuesday, November 8 along Ky. 28 in Chavies, also from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Officials say there will be access available to emergency vehicles while repairs are being made, but the crossings will be closed to all other vehicles for the duration.

There will be no detours marked, and officials say drivers should plan their trips accordingly.
