Arco Cress, 79, of Hazard, died Tuesday, December 6 at the hospice care center in Hazard.

He was retired from Bizzack where he worked in highway construction.

He was the son of the late Farris Cress and the late Thelma Miniard Cress, and was also preceded in death by his brother, Roscoe Cress.

He is survived by his wife, Verda Cress; daughter Linda Cress; step-daughter Jackie Grigsby; sisters Lois Fowler and Joyce Blankenship; brother Fernando Cress; special niece and nephew Greg and Carolyn Horn; and grandchild Krista Makenzie Grigsby.

Arrangements are being handed by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard where the family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, December 9. Services will begin at noon on Saturday, December 10 with Dana Feltner officiating. Interment will be at Resthaven Cemetery in Jeff.
