On Thursday, the Perry County Central Commodores traveled to Johnson County to take on the Golden Eagles. The Commodores got off to a slow start, but picked up the pace in the second half. They were able to escape the Nest with a 10-point win.
The Commodores got into foul trouble early in the game, and slowly began to lose ground. At the horn, the Golden Eagles were on top 19-13.
Perry Central’s defense slowed down Johnson Central in the second period, allowing the Commodores to keep the game close. Going into the break, the Golden Eagles were up 32-26.
The Commodores came alive in the third period, and turned their deficit into an advantage. With eight minutes remaining to play, Perry Central held the 53-43 lead.
Johnson Central tried to erase their deficit in the final period, but Perry Central was able to keep a strong grip on the game. The Commodores went on to win the game by the final count of 71-61.
