John Paul Campbell, 69, of Hazard, died at his home in Liberty on Monday, February 6.

He was born in Lothair on March 9, 1942, and was retired from the Kentucky Power Company.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul C. Campbell, and his mother-in-law, Dolly Fields.

He is survived by his wife, Ardell Sue Fields Campbell; daughters Susan Campbell of Liberty and Rebecca Duff and husband Jack of Hazard; sons Paul C. Campbell of Hazard and Robert M. Campbell, a missionary in Laos; along with two precious granddaughters, Kristen Duff and Aubrey Campbell.

He is also survived by his mother, Virginia S. Campbell of Hazard; sisters Phyllis Parrott and husband Jim of Knoxville, Tn., and Linda Engle of Lexington; brothers David Campbell of Nicholasville and Lloyd Campbell and wife Reva Joyce of Hazard, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 9 at 6 p.m. at the Jennie’s Chapel Methodist Church in Windsor, Ky. Services will begin at 1 pm. on Friday, February 10 at the church. Burial will be at the Jennie’s Chapel Memorial Cemetery.

Bartle Funeral Home of Liberty was in charge of arrangements.
