Senior Cody Hollon took top honors at the regional wrestling tournament last week, winning the championship crown at 220 pounds.

Perry Central advanced three wrestlers into the finals of the region championships. Besides Hollon, Brad Williams at 132 pounds and Johnathan Begley at heavyweight advanced to the finals and finished as region runner-ups.

Perry Central wrestling hit a new milestone, finishing third in the region and qualifying 10 wrestlers – the most for the state tournament in the history of the school. The two-day state championships are being held Friday and Saturday at the Alltech Arena at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington.
