Hazard falls to Pikeville on the road

The Hazard Bulldogs traveled to Pikeville early in the week to take on the Panthers. Pikeville took the early lead, and held off the Bulldogs down the stretch for the 3-1 win.

Pikeville picked up a single run in the second inning and two more in the third frame (3-0). Hazard’s only run came in the fourth inning as J. T. Haynes scored after reaching on an error. The Panthers would hold the Bulldogs scoreless to the end to collect the 3-1 win.

Griffin Wells went the distance for the Bulldogs, giving up five hits, with four strikeouts and no walks.

Hazard stats: Matt Collins 1 hit, Josh Meehan 1 hit and J. T. Haynes 1 run.
