The Hazard Bulldogs traveled to Hindman last week to take on the Knott Central Patriots. The Bulldogs fell behind early, but were able to put together a strong rally late to pull out the win.

Knott Central used the first five innings to build a 3-1 advantage. Hazard’s only run would come in the fourth inning.

However, things were about to change. The Bulldogs exploded in the sixth inning, and traveled the base path to the plate nine times in the frame. The rally gave Hazard the 10-3 lead.

Hazard was not finished at this point. Just for good measure, the Bulldogs added three more runs to their tally in the seventh inning (13-3). The Patriots had nothing left in the way of a rally, and Hazard went on to collect the 13-3 win.

Austin Johnson picked up the win for the Bulldogs. Johnson threw three innings, giving up one hit, and collecting six strikeouts (no walks). Griffin Wells went the first four innings, giving up three runs on five hits with six strikeouts and one walk.

Hazard stats: Jordan Olinger 2 runs and 1 hit, Evan Whitaker 3 runs, 1 hit and 2 RBI, Austin Johnson 1 run, 2 hits and 2 RBI, J. T. Haynes 2 runs, 1 hit and 2 RBI, Jake Roll 1 hit, Kevin Eversole 1 run, 1 hit and 1 RBI, Matt Collins 2 runs and 1 RBI, Nathan Stupart 1 run and Zach Hoskins 1 run.
