Priscilla Gayheart Hurt, 90, departed this life on Saturday, April 7 at her home in Lotts Creek.

She was born on May 6, 1921 in Powell County, the daughter of the late James Burns and the late Millie Hignite Burns. She was also preceded in death by her first husband; Bill Gayheart, second husband Ulous Hurt; son J.W. Gayheart; brothers Pearl, James Jr., John and Bob Burns; and sisters Nannie Combs, Rachel Napier, Margaret Smith and Laurie Burns.

Priscilla was a life-long resident of Knott County, a life-long Member of the Lotts Creek Free Church, and enjoyed gardening, fishing, animals and time with her family.

She is survived by daughters Loretta Swank and husband Don of Middlebury, Indiana, and Millie Overbee of Lotts Creek; daughter-in-law Glenna Gayheart of Lotts Creek; brother Sid Burns of Isom; sister Dorothy Smith of Hazard; special caregiver Connie Ritchie, along with eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, April 10 at the Lotts Creek Free Church at 1 p.m. with Richard Bowers officiating. The interment will follow in the Bill Gayheart Cemetery located at Elk Fork Road on Lotts Creek. The Visitation will be on Monday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Engle Funeral Home on East Main Street in Hazard.
