A MTV producer met with 25 Hazard Community and Technical students individually on Friday, April 13, in search of a potential person to feature on their TV show MADE, a three-time Emmy-award-winning series which features people who want to change their lives.

The students came with dreams that included modeling, professional singing, boxing, video game developing, and acting. They met with a producer who interviewed them briefly. If they are chosen for the show, they will be contacted in about a month, according to the MTV representative.

MTV is visiting ten colleges in Kentucky, including four schools in the Kentucky Community and Technical College System. Besides Hazard, interviews are being conducted at Gateway, Madisonville, and West Kentucky. No guarantee is made that a student from HCTC will be chosen.

“I really hope I’m chosen,” noted David Boggs of Leslie County, who wants to be a professional songwriter. “This could make all the difference in my career,” he said.

MTV requested students between the ages of 18 and 26 to participate in the casting call.
