Lady Dores take down Leslie 6-3

The Perry County Central Lady Commodores traveled to Hyden last week to take on the Leslie County Lady Eagles. The Lady Commodores took the early lead, and held on to take the win 6-3.

Perry Central got on the board with a run in the first inning, but gave the run back in the third inning as Leslie County tied the game at one. However, The Lady Commodores would get hot in the third inning, pushing the advantage to 4-0.

Leslie County picked up the pace in the bottom of the third inning, scoring one (4-1). The Lady Eagles continued to roll in the fourth inning, plating two, and bringing the Lady Commodores’ advantage to one (4-3).

In the seventh inning, the Lady Commodores put the icing on the cake with a pair of runs (6-3). The Lady Eagles could not get anything going in the bottom half of the frame, and Perry Central claimed the 6-3 win.

Shelby Sheffield went five innings, giving up three runs on three hits, with three walks and five strikeouts. Whitney Back went two scoreless innings, with no hits and four strikeouts.

Perry Central stats: Morgan Combs 2 hits and 3 runs, Whitney Back 3 hits, 2 runs and 1 RBI, Melia Kemper 1 hit and 2 RBI, Pam Sebastian 1 run and 1 RBI, Hannah Johnson 1 hit and Shaelyn Eversole 1 hit.
