Game two of opening day featured the Reds and the Cardinals. The game was tight in the early going, with the Reds exploding late to take the 25-11 win.
The Reds opened the game with five runs in the first inning. The Cardinals countered with two runs in the bottom of the first, and three in the second (5-5).
The Reds then scored two in the third inning, while the Cardinals plated but one (7-6). The Reds’ bats came alive in the fourth inning as they managed seven runs to boost their lead to 14-6. They then came back with 11 runs in the fifth inning. The Cardinals rallied in the bottom of the frame, but could only muster five runs. The Reds went on to win the game by the final tally of 25-11.
