Kim Cornette, 56, departed this life on Tuesday May 1 at her home in London, Ky.

She was born April 9, 1956 in Hazard, the daughter of Patty Cornette and the late James N. Cornette, and was also preceded in death by her brother, James Allen Cornette. Kim loved her family and enjoyed animals, flowers, and sunsets.

She is survived by her lifelong partner, Joe Arnett of London; mother Patty Cornette of Lexington; step son Shay Arnett and wife Courtney of Jacksonville, Florida; brother Greg Cornette and wife Julie of Dandridge, Tennessee; sister Jamie Nucci and husband Donnie of Hazard; grandchildren Zoe and Jonah; nephew Anthony Thorpe and wife Tracy; nieces Shannon North and husband Greg, Megan Cornette and Cory Seals, Ashley Cornette, and Kim Fields and husband Rick; great-nephews Kip Seals, Cale Seals, Jacob Fields and Jordan Thorpe, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, May 5 at 1 p.m. at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home of Hazard with Billy Arnett officiating. The interment will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery located at Jeff. The visitation will be at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Perry County Animal Shelter.
