Bulldogs pick up 4-2 win over Clay

On Wednesday, the Hazard Bulldogs hosted the Clay County Tigers. The Bulldogs scored all their runs early, and settled in to hold off the Tigers 4-2.

The Bulldogs went to work early, picking up a pair of runs in each the first and second innings. The 4-0 score would hold until the sixth inning when the Tigers managed their first run (4-1).

Clay County rallied again in the seventh inning, but once again could only muster a single run. The Bulldogs closed down the rally early to take the 4-2 win.

Evan Whitaker got the win on the mound, going six innings with four walks, three strikeouts, five hits and one run. Kameron Conley closed the game with one inning of work with, one walk, one hit and one run.

Hazard stats: Austin Johnson 1 run, 1 hit and 1 RBI, Evan Whitaker 1 hit and 1 RBI, Jordan Olnger 1 run, 1 hit and 2 RBI, Griffin Wells 1 hit, Kevin Eversole 1 run and 2 hits, Nathan Stupart 1 hit, Cole Ratliff 1 hit and Zach Hoskins 1 run.
