Last week, the Hazard Bulldogs hosted the Paintsville Tigers. The Bulldogs took the 3-0 win behind the no-hit performance of Evan Whitaker.
The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the third inning when the Bulldogs manufactured a run. They picked up a pair of insurance runs in the fifth inning (3-0), but would not need them as Evan Whitaker continued to sit down the Tiger batters.
Hazard went on to win the game by the final tally of 3-0. Whitaker had but two walks in the game, while striking out nine.
Hazard stats: Austin Johnson 2 runs and 2 hits, Griffin Wells 1 run and 1 hit, Evan Whitaker 1 hit and 2 RBI, Jordan Olinger 1 RBI and Cole Ratliff 2 hits. Evan Whitaker: 7 innings, 0 hits, 2 walks and 9 strikeouts.
