Saturday’s second game put the Padres and the Angels on the little league diamond. The Padres were able to hold off a late rally by the Angels to outlast them 6-4.
The Padres and the Angels traded runs in the first inning to end with a 1-all tie. The Angels then went up 2-1 in the second inning, but then fell cold.
The Padres tied the game in the fourth inning with a single run, and took the lead 3-2 with another run in the fifth inning. They jumped out to the 6-2 advantage in the final frame and settled in to defend the lead.
The Angels put together a rally in the bottom of the sixth inning, but fell short of the Padres. The Padres went on to win the game by the final count of 6-4.
