Kermit Asher, 82, of Slemp, passed away on Thursday, June 14 at the Hazard ARH medical center.
An Army veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Asher is survived by his wife, Opal Asher of Slemp; son Dwight David Asher of Slemp; daughters Diane Couch of Slemp and Felicia Sue Asher of Fountain, Fl.; sister Elsie Johnson of Louisville, along with four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Arrangements are being handled by Brashear-Callahan Funeral Home of Viper. The visitation will be held on Sunday, June 17 at 6 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Big Leatherwood. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 18 with Mike Ison officiating. Burial will take place at the Asher Family Cemetery.
