The 19th annual Osborne Brothers Hometown Festival is set for Aug. 2-4 in Hyden featuring Bobby Osborne and the Rock Top X-Press on Friday and Saturday, the Lonesome River Band, Dean Osborne Band, JD Crowe and the New South, Ralph Stanley II, Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, Margie Sullivan and the Sullivan Family, and the Moron Brothers. Coaltown Dixie and Vince Combs are featured. Also performing are James Jones, Laurel River Line, Mountain Connection, Tommy Brown, Mountain Melody, Sharon Morris, Crossroads, Idletymes, Southern Sun, Ramblin Grass, Howard’s Creek and Jubliee Road. The event is a showcase for HCTC’s Kentucky School of Bluegrass and Traditional Music (KSBTM).
Tickets are only $15 in advance and are available from any Leslie County Fire Department volunteer or Hyden Citizens Bank.
Gates open at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 2; 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 3, and 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 4. Inquire about workshops available. The festival is at the Nixon Center, highway 421 in Hyden.
