The 2012 boys and girls soccer seasons are still a little more than a week away. None of the county’s high school soccer teams have a game slated for this week.

The Buckhorn Wildcats will play all their games on the road, and will start on August 16 at Hazard. The Wildcats finished last season with a 1-10 record, while the Bulldogs came away with a 7-13 mark. The two teams did not play last season.

The Hazard Bulldogs will open their season with the Wolfe County Wolves. The Wolves played a limited schedule last season as it was their first season with a team, and did not play in the district playoffs. Wolfe County went 1-6 last season. Hazard won both meetings last season 3-1 and 8-0.

The Perry County Central Commodores (9-15 last season) will be on the road when they open their season. On August 14, they will travel to North Laurel, who went 8-12 last season. On August 18, the Commodores will travel to Elliott County who went 0-12 last season. The Lions played a limited schedule last season as it was their first.

The Hazard Lady Bulldogs (5-13 last season) do not have a game this week, but will play three games the following week. The Lady Bulldogs will start on the road with the Wolfe County Lady Wolves, who went 0-7 in their first season. The Lady Bulldogs won both meetings last season 8-1 and 10-0.

They then take on the Paintsville Lady Tigers (6-7 last season) and the Whitley County Lady Colonels (8-13 last season) at home. The teams did not meet last season.

The Perry County Central Lady Commodores will also wait a week to get started. The Lady Commodores, 13-8 last season, will follow the boys team to North Laurel (9-11 last season) and Elliott County (0-11 last season). Perry Central defeated the Elliott County Lady Lions 6-0 in their only meeting last season.
