HAZARD — Police in Hazard are investigating the murder of a Perry County man who died after he was stabbed multiple times in his home on Walker Branch Road.

Emergency responders were called to the home at 7:41 p.m. Saturday evening following a report that someone was possibly dead inside the residence. Ambulance workers with the Perry County Ambulance Authority located a man identified as Jerry Combs, who they report had suffered several stab wounds.

Combs was transported to the Hazard ARH medical center, where he later died from his injuries.

No arrests have been announced in the case, and officials contacted at the state police post in Hazard were unable to comment on Monday, though WYMT-TV in Hazard reported that Combs was initially found by his girlfriend upon her return to the residence.

Authorities do urge anyone with information into Combs’s murder to contact the Kentucky State Police Post in Hazard at 606-435-6069. Detective Billy Pollard with the Kentucky State Police is currently handling the investigating.
