HAZARD — One person was injured Monday during a crash on Highway 15 just outside of Hazard city limits.

The crash happened just before 2 p.m. when a Ford Escape being driven by a juvenile veered off the roadway and struck a Ford Explorer parked in front of the offices for Fugate Family Chiropractic. The force of the crash pushed the Explorer into another vehicle, causing extensive damage to both. Two other perked vehicles also received damage.

There were no passengers in the Ford Escape, noted Deputy Bruce Fields with the Perry County Sheriff’s Office, adding that the juvenile’s injuries were serious, but did not appear to be life threatening. Authorities are not releasing her name since she is under the age of 18.

Fields said according to statements from witnesses who were behind the Escape during the crash, the driver apparently lost control before striking the other vehicles, none of which were occupied. No other injuries were reported.
