Perry Central High School’s Commodore Players rang in their 10th anniversary with an ambitious production of “Aladdin” this week, which included a large cast of actors and some ambitious and clever set design. The drama company’s four-day run of “Aladdin” began on Thursday, and there will still be time to catch their final show on Sunday, Sept. 30 at 2 p.m. on the Commodore stage at Perry Central. All proceeds from the production go to fund the company’s competition production at the annual Kentucky Theatre Association’s festival. The Players will also return to the PCC stage for their spring student-directed production, which will be a version of Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” though with a twist.

As the old saying goes, “All good things must come to an end”. And, so it has. Today is the final performance of The Perry County Central Commodore Player's adaptation of “Aladdin”. Having had the part of “Aladdin” as his first leading role, Austin Campbell has proven to be an asset to the PCC Commodore players. His talent, hard work, dedication, charm and debonair good looks have proven that he is definitely everything one could ask for in a leading man. Of course, as his mother, I might be just the least bit biased. I am SO proud of you Austin and ALL the Commodore Players! Congratulations on a job very well done!
