Last week, the Perry County Central Lady Commodores participated in the 54th district volleyball tournament, taking on the Leslie County Lady Eagles in the opening round.
Perry Central jumped out to the early lead in game one. However, Leslie County was able to rally and take the game by the final score of 25-19.
In game two, neither team was able to gain a clear-cut advantage, with Perry Central pulling it out in extra serves. The Lady Commodores tied the match 1-1 with the 26-24 win.
The momentum stayed with Perry Central in the third game. The Lady Commodores were impressive in their 25-15 win.
Game four was another tight contest. Leslie County was able to force a fifth and deciding game with a 25-22 win. The match went to the Lady Eagles as they raced to the 15-9 win, putting them in the championship match.
