Mary Couch Holland, 90, died Monday, Oct. 15 at her home in London.
She was born March 9, 1922 in Leslie County, the daughter of the late Virgil Dee Couch and the late Stella Couch, and was was also preceded in death by her husband, Golden Holland; son Elmer Holland; brothers Arvil, Paul, and Alonzo Couch; and sisters Maultie, Mae, Mandy, and Molly.
She was a life-long resident of Leslie County, with the exception of the last year residing in London, and was a member of the Couch’s Fork Church of God.
She is survived by her daughter, Daisy Curry and husband Wayne of London; grandchildren Lana Smith and husband Eugene of London, Shannon Bundy of London, Dwight Marcum of Corbin, Beulah Couch and husband Terry of Manchester, Sharon Graham and husband Tom of Carlisle, Ohio; great-grandchildren Brandi Jones and husband Clayton, Lucas Bundy, David Curry House, and Mackenzie House; great-great-grandchild Bradley Jones; brother R.B. “Pujo” Couch of Hal’s Fork; special niece Judy Spurlock of Hal’s Fork; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were be conducted on Thursday, Oct. 18 at 1 p.m. at the Couch’s Fork Church of God with Rev. Logan Wayne Bowling and Rev. Kevin Napier officiating. The interment followed in the Couch’s Fork Cemetery. Engle-Bowling Funeral Home of Hazard was in charge of arrangements.
