Virgil Williams, 77, of Krypton, died Saturday, Oct. 20 at the hospice care center in Hazard.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a retired self-employed diesel mechanic.
He was the son of the late Lonnie Williams and the late Madella Taulbee Williams, and was also precede in death by sisters Geneva Longsworth and Norma Dean Kennedy, and brothers Leonard, Darvin, and Roy Williams.
He is survived by his wife, June Williams; daughters Penelope Williams of Krypton and Charlotte Rae Williams of Krypton; sons Larry Wayne Williams of Lexington, Paul Douglas Williams of Hyden, and James Edward Williams of Krypton; brothers Edison Williams of Bonnyman; sister-in-law Joyce Baker; grandchildren Janelle, Savannah, Ashley, Larry, Brittany, and Donovan; eight great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Brothers Funeral Home of Hazard. The visitation will be held at the Krypton Brethren Church, where the family will receive friends after 5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 22, with an additional service at 7 p.m. Funeral services will begin at noon on Tuesday, Oct. 23 with Rev. Jim Sluss officiating. Interment will be at Longsworth-Williams Cemetery in Krypton.
DAV rites will be administered by Hazard Chapter 64.
