On Saturday, the R. W. Combs Lady Mustangs and the Big Creek Lady Bobcats hooked up in the 8th grade Perry County tournament. The Lady Mustangs were able to stay one step ahead of the Lady Bobcats, and pulled away late for the 47-21 win.

Things were really tight in the first period, with R. W. Combs taking the 8-6 lead at the horn. The second period saw the Lady Mustangs open a little breathing room. At the break, R. W. Combs was up 21-14.

The momentum swung completely to the Lady Mustangs in the third period, allowing them to take the 34-18 advantage into the fourth quarter.

Big Creek was unable to turn things around in the fourth quarter. R. W. Combs cruised to the 47-21 win, and a spot in the next round.
