The Greater Hazard Area Performing Arts Series announces an evening of great entertainment with Appalachian Winter Homecoming: A Tribute to Jean Ritchie featuring area school choirs, the Voices of Appalachia from Alice Lloyd College (ALC), and the HCTC Kentucky School of Bluegrass & Traditional Music. This seasonal concert celebration will be on Wednesday, November 28, at 7 p.m. at The Forum in the Hal Rogers Center. The program will be interspersed with dance, solo and ensemble pieces performed by faculty and students from both the KSBTM and area schools and will include Christmas and seasonal favorites along with some of Jean Ritchie’s most beloved songs.
Series grand benefactors are: Whitaker Bank, Peoples Bank and Trust, Perry Distributors, Pine Branch Coal Sales, Hazard Lions Club, and City of Hazard - Mayor Nan Gorman.

The Kentucky Arts Council, the state arts agency, supports the arts series with state tax dollars and federal funding from the National Endowment for the Arts. The Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky and the Steele-Reese Foundation are also providing support this season.
