Jonathan Jett (pictured above, second from left) was one of five people inducted into the Alice Lloyd College Hall of Fame last month.
Jonathan Jett, a Perry County native and current Interim Superintendent of Perry County Schools, was among this year’s class of inductees for Alice Lloyd College’s Athletic Hall of Fame.
Jett and four other former athletes of the college were on hand for an induction ceremony on Oct. 13.
Jett graduated from Dilce Combs High School and attended ALC from 1990-1994. He was a four-year starter on the Eagles baseball team and was known for his speed and fielding prowess.
As a freshman, he led the club in hits and was named Conference Freshman of the Week twice for his efforts. He garnered additional Conference Player of the Week honors as a sophomore. As a junior, he earned the prestigious Gold Glove award. He closed out his career with a batting average of over .300 and led the team in stolen bases each year he played. For his efforts, he was twice selected to the All-Conference Team.
On the day of his induction, he was joined by his wife Katrina, son Tucker, his parents Eddie and Betty Jett, his sister Allison Jett and her children, as well as his mother-in-law Joan Campbell and many friends.
Also included in this year’s class was Jason Collins of Auburn, Alabama; Amy Dixon of Johnson County; Jeff Lovely of Magoffin County; and Elmer Slone of Auburn ,Indiana (formerly of Knott County).
