John C. Dixon, 83, of Dayton, Ohio, died Monday, Nov. 12.
He was an active member of Evangel Church of God for many years, and served Evangel Academy in many capacities. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Louetta; his parents, I.D. and Effie Dixon; five brothers; and three sisters.
He is survived by his son, Henry Lee Dixon and wife Jeannie of Beavercreek; grandchildren Melissa, Daniel, and Laura; step grandchild Donnie; four great-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren,; two step great-great-grandchildren; sister Nancy Harvey of Cincinnati; and brothers Lee Dixon of Georgia and Carlen Dixon of Kentucky.
Arrangements are being handled by Engle-Bowling Funeral Home of Hazard, where the visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17. Services will follow. Burial will take place in the Napfor Cemetery in Hazard.
