The Hazard Bulldogs played host to one of the region’s top teams in the Breathitt County Bobcats on Friday. The Bulldogs got off to a slow start, but continually posted better numbers than the Bobcats, leading them to a big win.

Scoring was at a premium in the first period, but the Bulldogs were able to pull out the 7-6 advantage. Hazard’s defense continued to stymie the Bobcats in the second period, with the offense picking up the pace. Hazard went into the locker room with the 21-12 lead.

Breathitt County picked up the pace in the third period, but still did not break the double-digit scoring level for the frame. Hazard added to their lead, and went into the final eight minutes with the 33-21 lead.

The Bulldogs put the game on ice early in the fourth quarter, and went on to the double-digit win. Hazard went on to win the game by the final score of 49-29.
