Early last week, the Hazard Bulldogs traveled to Beattyville to take on the Lee County Bobcats. The Bulldogs got off to a slow start, but picked up the pace before moving on to the win.
Everything seemed to go Lee County’s way in the first period, with the Bobcats shocking the Bulldogs 22-12. However, the Bulldogs would more than make up for it in the second quarter. Hazard blitzed Lee County, and went into the locker room with the 46-35 lead.
The running game slowed to a trot in the third period, with Hazard keeping a firm grip on their lead. With eight minutes left to play, the Bulldogs held the 67-50 advantage.
Lee County outscored Hazard in the fourth quarter, but could not erase their deficit. The Bulldogs went on to win the game by the final score of 75-62.
